On August 5, 2024, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned at 12.41 PM. Fled away from Dhaka to India by helicopter. History began with 15 years of tragedy, pain, and suffering, during which many innocent people died, were wounded, and lost their eyes, legs, and hands. The popular Awami League party ended its activities through torture, killing people, disappearing bodies, and so on.
Furthermore, August 4, 2024, marked the deadliest day in Bangladesh's Generation Z. Although students, guardians, small business entrepreneurs, middle-class families, various small workers, and day laborers are involved.
Eventually, Dhaka turned into a battleground, with protesters and the government party, police did not control the situation as a whole. There are clashes across the country, leaving at least about 96 people dead and over thousand injured, manay with bullet wounds, the day's toll pusshed proteast related deaths since mid-July past 306.
Moreover, a fierce clash broke out in Dhanmondi near the Awami League office around 12:30PM. Gunshots and grenades shook the neighborhood. At Shahbagh, tensions ran high. Violent clashes occurred in Farmgate, Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, Uttara, and Gulshan, with a massive crowd armed with sticks and traffic barriers.
Apart from that, protesters were beaten or shot, and government offices and vehicles were torched. In Chittagong alone, 172 people with gunshot wounds were hospitalised. March to Dhaka programme to August 5, 2024.
Finally, Bangladesh Army General Warruzzaman announced, "No fire over the people, whoever died and were wounded will be judged soon."
