The ongoing Middle East crisis has sent shockwaves across global aviation, and Bangladesh is no exception. A total of 102 flights to and from Dhaka have been cancelled over three days following the joint military attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28.

As tensions escalate, several Middle Eastern nations have closed their airspace, severely disrupting international connectivity and leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

Airspace Closures Disrupt Regional Travel

According to airport authorities, the evolving security situation prompted Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan to close their airspace.

This sudden closure disrupted major flight routes connecting South Asia to the Middle East and beyond. Since many Bangladeshi workers and travelers rely on Gulf connections, the impact has been immediate and significant.

Is the USA’s Vision for a “New Iran” Achievable?< >

As airstrikes continue and reports emerge about the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the world is asking urgent questions:

👉What will be the future of Iran?

👉 Can the country survive the fall of its leader?

👉 What exactly can the United States achieve?

However, if regime change is the goal, eliminating a single leader does not automatically transform a political system. Deep-rooted institutions, military structures, and political networks remain powerful forces within Iran.

Eventually, US President Donald Trump reportedly suggested that different visions exist regarding how power might be transferred — whether through reform within the existing structure or through complete overthrow. However, such transitions are rarely simple.< >

Economic Consequences: A Global Concern

The American public itself remains divided. War brings enormous financial costs. When conflict escalates:

Government expenditures rise sharply. On the other hand, Global oil prices increase, Commodity prices surge, and Inflation pressures intensify worldwide.

Countries like Bangladesh, which depend heavily on imports, may feel the ripple effects quickly. Higher fuel prices automatically affect transportation, food costs, and daily living expenses.

Final Summary

The Middle East crisis is no longer a regional issue — it is a global concern. From cancelled flights in Dhaka to rising commodity prices worldwide, the consequences are interconnected.

Whether the United States’ vision for political change in Iran is achievable remains uncertain. What is certain, however, is that instability carries a heavy price — economically, politically, and socially.

For now, passengers wait, airlines adjust routes, and the world watches closely as events continue to unfold.
